WisdomPlan is an AI-powered learning platform that instantly creates personalized skill-learning roadmaps with tailored steps, tasks, and resources—eliminating the need for manual planning and standing out from generic online courses.
Yankun Zhao, Founder and CEO of WisdomPlan, leads the company’s strategy to generate users and drive revenue growth. The company is currently in its pre-seed stage.
At launch, WisdomPlan gained impressive traction after being featured on ProductHunt, ranking #1 Product of the Month in Education and #3 Product of the Day. However, after the initial buzz faded, the company struggled to maintain momentum.
That’s why they experimented with cold outreach to generate more users; however, since it's a B2C product, the time and effort they spent on cold outreach weren't worth the customer gains. With a limited budget, they also couldn't afford to run ads.
They faced these major challenges:
New customer acquisition method was very slow.
Paid ads were too expensive for a pre-seed stage startup.
Outbound marketing took too much time with little return.
To reduce the time and resources, Yankun realized the need to leverage influencers that have the right target audience of their product.
Key requirements:
Cost-effective method to drive quick sales
Ability to reach the right target audience with minimal resources
Yankun collaborated with me to launch an influencer marketing campaign, focusing on one platform first—YouTube. Over three months, WisdomPlan started gaining traction by partnering with niche creators.

Yankun found that partnering with YouTubers—especially with integrated content and affiliate incentives—was a highly effective strategy. Based on these results, the team decided to continue monthly YouTube collaborations and expand to other platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
